The world, by nature, is gloriously uncertain. But we have the tools to stabilize ourselves.

On the day we were born and held for the first time, we entered into a lifelong relationship with trust.

As children, most of our parents held us and offered us the stability to begin to explore what trust really means, but as we grew older and fell into society, we lost some of the purest essence of our ability to simply be with our experience moment-to-moment; to trust in our truest hearts.

But that doesn't mean our trust abandoned us; when the sun is out we still know that the stars are shining, we just can't see them. This is the innate power of trust.

Our ability to reconnect to the purest source of trust allows us to more openly give and receive love. In fact, the essence of awakening, enjoying and appreciating our lives lie in our ability to surrender and to trust.

No matter what life has thrown at us, there is always a way to trust not only that we can be present for life, but that it's in the very nature of our life to renew itself.

The reality of this truth is a beautiful gift, because fortunately as humans we have the ability to wake up wherever we are, we just need to discover the tools and wisdom to usher us into the moment...

Meet Your Teachers...

Ram Dass was one of the first teachers to bring Bhakti Yoga to the West through his book "Be Here Now". He continues to share his enormous heart with new generations of seekers through his retreats, online workshops, and new books.

Jack Kornfield has trained as a Buddhist monk in the monasteries of Thailand, India and Burma. He has taught meditation internationally since 1974 and is one of the key teachers to introduce Buddhist mindfulness practice to the West.

Trudy Goodman, Ph.D., is a vipassana teacher in the Theravada lineage and the Founding Teacher of InsightLA. She also teaches residential retreats at Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre, CA, Vallecitos Mountain Retreat Center, & Insight Meditation Society.

Layering traditional kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Krishna Das spent the late ’60’s traveling across the country as a student of Ram Dass, eventually leading him to his guru, Neem Karoli Baba. KD now travels the world sharing his kirtan practice and stories of the Path.

Duncan Trussell is a conscious comedian and actor who hosts a wildly popular podcast, "The Duncan Trussell Family Hour" - he has appeared on Raghu's "Mindrolling" podcast and serves as a conduit for a younger generation of spiritual seekers looking to explore life's big questions.

Raghu Markus has been involved in music and transformational media since the early 1970s when he left his job as program director of CKGM-FM in Montreal to join Ram Dass in India with his guru, Neem Karoli Baba. He is currently the Executive Director of the Love Serve Remember Foundation and hosts the Mindrolling podcast on the Be Here Now network.

The Gifts of Mindfulness and Trust

Jack Kornfield & Trudy Goodman

 Week 2

The Intersection of Faith & Trust

Ram Dass, Krishna Das and Raghu Markus

How do we learn to step outside of ourselves and to trust our own innate experiences?

Jack and Trudy explore the gifts of mindfulness and trust through storytelling and wisdom of their lineage traditions. They teach us how we can trust our intuition in order to come to a deeper understanding of our capacity to be present.

Trudy investigates how trust and feeling safe in our daily lives are related, elaborating on trust as it relates to inner relaxation.

How are trust and faith related to each other?

Krishna Das, Ram Dass and Raghu engage in a lively discussion on how faith intersects with trust.

Krishna Das says, “Real faith comes from an immediate connection with something real. Trust is what we have to do to clean up our act in order to immerse ourselves in that faith.”

Week 3

Rebuilding Trust Through Forgiveness

Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman

Week 4

Questioning Our Daily Experience of Trust

Duncan Trussell, Ram Dass and Raghu Markus

What is in the power of forgiveness? How do we rebuild trust when people have caused us harm?

In this talk, Jack shares the benefits of cultivating a forgiving heart, weaving his own experiences of a difficult upbringing with timeless stories and ancient truths related to forgiveness and trust.

Trudy explores our first experiences with trust as infants, and how we can revisit that trust and deep knowing that brings us into the moment.

Duncan engages Ram Dass in a humorous and lively discussion on a series of topics and questions surrounding synchronicity, the power of trust, “getting past the miracle addiction” and how those of us who never spent time with Neem Karoli Baba in the flesh can still open ourselves up to feel that unconditional love and faith.

Ram Dass explores skepticism and faith and the places from which those emotions grow - and how trust and faith are synonymous.

"The Love You Seek is What You Are"

Duncan Trussell, Jack Kornfield, Krishna Das and Raghu Markus

“There’s something that happens at some point in spiritual life where you stop trying to get anywhere, and it’s a tremendous relief.” - Jack Kornfield

In this live podcast, Jack, Duncan, Krishna Das and Raghu get real about trust, lies, relationships and forgiveness.

One thing is for certain when it comes to relationships, you can always trust that the other person will be exactly who they are, and never who you expect them to be.

The group answers some important questions:

  • How do we gain back trust when someone we love lies to us in the worst way possible? Are we even supposed to gain it back?
  • How do we create space for compassion to arise from pain and suffering?
  • How does divorce factor into spiritual life? How do we remain grounded in our practice through that massive transition?
  • How do relationships with spiritual teachers foster the trusting heart?
  • What happens when you don’t have a physical teacher to guide you?
